Books on Evangelism
Description: The Way of the Master gives light to an almost forgotten biblical key that has the power to unlock the door of the
human heart, This is the proven and effective way of making the gospel make sense to the unsaved. It is so rooted in the Scriptures, once you see it, you will forever wonder how you could have missed it. It is the biblical principle of bypassing the intellect (the place of argument) and speaking directly to the conscience (the place of the knowledge of right and wrong)-the way Jesus did.
Do you shy away from sharing the true gospel message with others, unsure of what to say, afraid of rejection and ridicule?
That’s not what Jesus did.
Jesus was not afraid to shake people up. He spoke openly of their sinful nature and the righteousness of God. He forced people to confront their sin head-on, and He brought them face-to-face with their need for salvation — because He loved them.
Who do you know who isn’t saved? If they died tonight, where would they spend eternity? Do you care? If so, what are you doing to help them?
The Way of the Master will put a great tool into your hand and will teach you how to share the message of the gospel simply, biblically, and without fear — the way Jesus did! You will become equipped to confidently lead anyone — friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, or stranger on the street — to a clear understanding of repentance and what it means to be a true and active follower of Jesus Christ.
The Missions-Minded Child: Raising a New Generation to Fulfill God’s Purpose
Description: I read this book last year and highly recommend it. Great practical ideas on how to cultivate a missions minded child and a missions minded family. Great short biographies of missionaries are listed in the book and are ideal for family devotions. Do you want to see your children make a difference in the world? If so, impart in them a passion for missions and reaching the lost!
The Soul Winner: Advice on Effective Evangelism
Description: One of the most effective evangelists of all time. Under his ministry Victorian London saw revival on a scale never seen
since. Yet Spurgeon would be the first to point your finger away from himself to the true author of repentance and reformation – he realised that without God at work, he could do nothing.
Many people sought Spurgeon’s advice on evangelism and preaching and so he addressed a wide variety of different groups of people on the subject. Here is a collection of his lectures and talks to take people away from human inspired gimmickry and slavish mimicry to think through for themselves how to enable God to work in their lives and ministry.
Spurgeon was the minister of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London during the Victorian era. The author of numerous books, his sermons were reprinted and sold in tens of millions. Thousands gathered to hear him preach, but he was not just an eloquent man, he was a man driven to taking the gospel to the people with the utmost urgency. Review taken from Mongerism Books.
Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God
Description: If God is in control of everything, can Christians sit back and not bother to evangelize?
Or does active evangelism imply that God is not really sovereign at all?
J.I. Packer shows in this classic study how both of these attitudes are false. In a careful review of the biblical evidence, he shows how a right understanding of God’s sovereignty is not so much a barrier to evangelism as an incentive and powerful support for it. Review taken from Mongerism Books.
Jesus the Only Way to God: Must you hear the Gospel to be saved?
Description: If the evangelical church at large was ever too confrontational in its evangelism, those days are gone. In our shrinking, pluralistic world, the belief that Jesus is the only way of salvation is increasingly called arrogant and even hateful. In the face of this criticism, many shrink back from affirming the global necessity of knowing and believing in Jesus.
In Jesus: The Only Way to God, John Piper offers a timely plea for the evangelical church to consider what is at stake in surrendering the unique, universal place of Jesus in salvation. If you’re concerned about the current state of evangelism–and the church–this book is a must-read.
Sowing the Seed: Evangelism Stories for Children
Description: A garden will never grow unless someone takes the time to plant seeds. Likewise, God has planned things so that people will not be saved from their sins unless someone shares the good news of Jesus Christ with them. However, just like a seed planted in good soil brings forth a beautiful garden, God uses the gospel message to produce Christians fit for bearing spiritual fruit. In Sowing the Seed, children will read stories about people sharing the gospel with others. These stories about missions and evangelism reinforce the importance of sharing the gospel and encourage children to see the joy of telling others about Jesus.
I completed the School of Biblical Evangelism (SOBE) in 2009. Let’s just say SOBE rocked my world and changed my life in-regards
to evangelism. If you want to learn how to evangelize (biblically) this school is a must to be enrolled in. Really cheap only $150.00. Highly recommend.
